Constellation – Week 4

This week Morag had again set a small task to read part of  Walter Benjamin, ‘The Work of Art in the Age of Mechanical Reproduction’ before the lecture and to create a visual response to the phrase: “Art (and design) in the age of mechanical reproduction.” which we then presented at the beginning of the session to everyone. She then started to give a lecture about order and disorder, the arts and craft movement and the designers and artists that had different approaches during this time because of the movement. Also discussing how mechanical reproduction had a great impact on pieces of work during the early 20th century and changed a lot of work through different reproduction techniques. I can now at least make a relationship between product design and design movements and also reproduction techniques.
